Caroline Simon

Work

Since 2003, Caroline Simon presents her productions descent, Bluff (I and II), FLOODED and SELECT! to a broad audience. Her interest lies within contemporary themes, the daily and making the underlying visible.

“When you walk down the street in the summer, do men look at you in the face or at your neckline?” a dancer asks the audience in SELECT!. The states of mind and being, are brought across to the audience as directly as possible in Caroline Simon’s work. She focuses on the performer’s authenticity, his or her own expression and personality. One of these aspect’s main goal is to reduce the gap between audience and performer.

Caroline Simon creates intesive moments where poetic athmospheres and unexpected irony are combined. Subtile feeling for the here and now, and the possibility to escape from it, or let it surpise us.
